The Dalikamata and Reverie series are small original works of art that combine Rowena's favorite materials and themes in a more affordable price range. They pack a lot of punch in a mini work of art!
 
The Reverie series features machine-embroidered piña fabric repurposed from a barong tagalog, the traditional Filipino formal men's dress shirt. The pale, translucent fabric, woven from the leaves of the pineapple, invite the viewer to slow down and wander around in one's thoughts.
 
The fairytale illustration featured in the center is from Five Wise Words. I use fairytale illustrations from books I read as a child to explore the ways in which such seemingly innocent stories shape our beliefs and values, affecting the way we move through the world and interact with others. The illustration and naturally translucent capiz shell disc are sewn into place with Czech glass seed beads and finished with various natural feathers. The piece comes to you ready to hang with a single D-ring on the back.
