DRAWINGS & PAINTINGS
I firmly believe that visual art is as academic and rigorous a subject as any. Even after earning my B.F.A. from James Madison University, I gained most of my knowledge taking workshops and learning the atelier method which has existed for hundreds of years. Although my current media is mixed fiber art, I still make drawing and painting a regular part of my art practice, and teach what I've found to be most helpful whenever I can. Below are some examples of completed watercolor paintings as well as studies done in a variety of materials like graphite, charcoal, and gouache.
